Course Description

Over the past decade, wood manufacturing and construction has been transformed through the application of digital fabrication technology and the development of new structural systems. As a result, wooden buildings can now be stronger, taller, and more economically efficient and environmentally responsive than ever before. The Timber in the City: Urban Habitats competition studio will investigate innovative wood construction in an urban, multi-use complex by way of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture’s second competition dedicated to promoting advanced wood construction technology.
