NOMAS UW is the University of Washington chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students and a registered student organization at UW.
NOMAS UW builds community, expands access to information about architecture and creates opportunities for mentorship, professional development and collaboration. The organization seeks to increase representation in architecture by making information, networks and professional opportunities more accessible to students.
Get Involved
NOMAS UW organizes programs and activities throughout the year, including:
- Mentorship and informational events
- Architecture and design workshops
- Firm tours and professional networking opportunities
- Lecture panels featuring architects from historically underrepresented communities
- Collaborations with student organizations, local firms and professional partners
- Participation in the NOMAS Student Design Competition and national conference
- Projects and programming connected with the Seattle Design Festival
Through these programs, students can build professional skills, strengthen their portfolios, work collaboratively and connect with a supportive architecture and design community.
