UNLOVED BUILDINGS In a context of climate change, global destabilization, and mass urbanism, we can no longer afford to waste buildings. This presentation will trace the outlines of a movement challenging the 20th century idea that building new represents progress, to an understanding that we must tread more lightly on the planet and use existing urban fabric to create the built environment. This represents a fundamental shift, not just in technique or regulation, but in the ethos of a profession. Lasse will present the studios’ upcoming book ‘UNLOVED BUILDINGS’ as well as global case studies outlining a new architectural field. Lasse Lind is the 2026 Scan Design Foundation Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments. Lasse is a partner with 3XN GXN and leads the strategic sustainability consultancy GXN that specializes in building transformation, behavioral design and circularity.
