47° North is a part of the UW Architecture PAC and provides the opportunity for students to work alongside local professionals and Department faculty to sponsor interactive learning events throughout the academic year. Events include formal lectures, informal talks, exhibitions and office tours.

3 Firms | 3 Projects | 3 Phases
Over the course of the school year, three firms (to be confirmed) will give 15-20 minute presentations of “on the boards” projects at their worksites. The series will track the same three projects over the course of a year and will be hosted by a different presenting firm each quarter.

Event Description: Please join 47N for the first of our three part lecture series! All are welcome as we hear a lecture from the design team at Olson Kundig and learn about how they approached the early design phases of their new 1.1 million SF commercial high-rise in Atlanta Georgia.

Event Description: Please join 47N for the second lecture of our three part lecture series! All are welcome as we hear a presentation from the design team at Weber Thompson and learn about how they approached the design development of their current commercial office building project, 9North. Described as the “convergence of the natural and built environments” 9North explores the use of biophilic texture and green street opportunities to set apart this office building from the bustling urban setting of South Lake Union in downtown Seattle.
