Born in California and raised in Seattle, Benjamin Hait is a licensed architect, designer, and educator with over a decade of experience in architectural practice and academia. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
He has taught design studios, advanced seminars, and study abroad programs at institutions such as Northeastern University, Brandeis University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he directed an international program in Urbino, Italy. Additionally, he has served on the design faculties of the Boston Architectural College, Pratt Institute, and New York City College of Technology.
Benjamin’s professional experience includes serving as Senior Architect at Marble Fairbanks, where he led and contributed to projects for clients including the Brooklyn Public Library, Hunter College, and Lawrence University. Since 2008, he has worked with architecture firms in cities such as San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, Alexandria, New York, and Boston.
His research has been presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. His design work has been featured in publications such as Detail Magazine, Architectural Record, The Atlantic, and ArchDaily, and exhibited at Site:Brooklyn in New York City and Artek Gallery in Helsinki, Finland.
A member of the American Institute of Architects, he is licensed in New York and Washington. His contributions to educational and institutional projects at Marble Fairbanks have earned recognition from the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize, AIA New York State, the Society of American Registered Architects, the Chicago Athenaeum, The Architect’s Newspaper, and the NYC Public Design Commission.
